Cardagain

Linkage

This game is also available for iPod/iPhone, and that one's a wee bit neater around the edges.. But this was my original test engine that I started before going "Oooh, this'd be good on the iPod!" and making it on there, instead.

Today I took the time to fix it back up.
It uses the iPhone 4 graphics, so it's all nice and hi-resolution (surprisingly so) and it'll be added to as I build up the iPod one.
...
um..
so, yeah, there we go.

Same trailer as the iPod one, because, it's the same thing!

Thank you! Now I have the chance to play it as well! :thanks:

I finally found the time to play this game and I like it very much. It's a great twist that you have to memorize two times at the same time (the tile order and the sequence in which the symbols show up). That's much harder than one might expect. I think I will train it for a while and see if I can get better. Right now I fail more or less at the same point everytime I play.

Even after weeks of playing this, I'm still messing up at the same spot, more or less.
I can't tell you how many times the last round in the above trailer video took before I finally managed to get it right!

I really do like this game, but the audience is minimal. It's been SUCH a struggle to get folk to play it, and I think that pretty much comes down to the fact that people see "Card Game", and .. kinda shy away from it.
*sigh*

I recently released a DS port (I've gone a bit mad with this game!) hoping that that might've gained a few players.
... doesn't seem to have worked.

Aw well, never mind. Sometimes a game just falls flat, nothing you can do.

Time to move onto something else.
..
Well, I say that, but I'm actually taking a wee break, on account of the whole "2 years making AGameAWeek nearly killed me!!" issue, but aside from that, I'll move onto something in a bit ;)

I'm sorry to hear that. I think in the last two years you made lots of games that deserve a great audience and "Cardigain" is definitely one of your best. Maybe it's the old "style over substance" problem. Most people look for games that look stylish (with great graphics etc.) even if they are dull and empty regarding the gameplay. Your games look simple at the first glance, but many of them have a special twist that make them very enjoyable and challenging. Unfortunately many people will never know it, because they "judge the book by its cover" and don't even try them :(.

Does it work with the Android system or is it simply Iphone?

iPhone only, I'm afraid. I don't have an Android device, and don't trust emulators enough to do things that way.
Maybe some day in the future!

A request: Could you make a short explanation in the game so you know that you have to find the matches in order. It took me two playovers where I was close to putting it down, as all of a sudden after finding the right matches I was game over. But I had to validate it and I dug in, which also meant that I figured it out. I might not have if I didn't "have to" play the game. :)
Right now it says: "Find the match" - that could be "Find the matches in the order they are revealed".
Oh and I love it. If it was ported to the Android I would download it on my HTC for sure.
